I got nothing for a title, baby.

The Blaze won again last night, 28-14. Beat the Cowboys, last year's champ. One more regular season game and then the playoffs (PLAYoffs??..playOFFS??). We are not far from Columbia, Lexington, Orangeburg, Asheville. Should come check them out before it is too late. Videos didn't come out very well this time. Joseph got a chance to run the ball this week but you can't see it. We had a great crowd last night. Thanks Diane, Simon, Cindy and Steve for coming. Would like to really thank my boy Taylor. He takes most of the photos. He also takes the videos and uploads them to YOUTUBE for me. Very time consuming.

Also, would like to wish my sister Kelly a Happy Birthday. It is actually not until the 24th but I may not write again before them. Happy Birthday Kelly Boo.

Joe's football team, The Blaze, are undefeated at 6-0. They are averaging a little over 30 points a game and their opponents are averaging less than 5.   Taylor and I went to see Jim Gaffigan in concert at Littlejohn Coliseum 2 weeks ago. Click and listen. He is hysterical.

Jim Gaffigan- My class was filled with a motley mess of smart, driven students. I wasn’t at the top of my class of 23. But I was in the top 20, well top 23. If you held the list upside down I was at the top.

Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)- Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  Make no mistake, those of you who have been taking a beating in the stock market these last few weeks, your treasure has been stolen as surely as if it were stolen by a thief from your home. Instead of a ski mask, your robbers probably wear ties. Wreckless greed and dishonesty on a never before seen scale and the chickens have come home to roost.

  Those of you who have a good and proper understanding of the verses above are probably feeling OK, despite your losses. Those of you who do not, have probably had some very anxious and maybe even devastating moments, to say the very least. I will be praying for you. Not that you would regain what was lost, even though I hope you do but that you (and I) would better understand Matthew 6:19-21. Easy for me to say, as I haven't lost a dime (at least not first hand) but that doesn't make these verses any less true.

  I am very sad tonight. I think that is why I decided to write. A man I greatly admired and was a very good friend of my family for the past 40 years, stuck a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger this morning. This man's life story has always been a problem for me. It doesn't fit with my view of Jesus and it has always been a reminder that I don't and never will understand HIM or HIS ways. I will share his story in a later post and you will be amazed. In the meantime:

"Jesus, please have mercy on this man and his family tonight" 

Amen from all of you please. Seriously folks. Can you imagine? They need it tonight.
