We'll give James a break this morning. Monday morning I'll pick back up where we left off. Here are some quotes I've saved in the last month or so:
.
A.W. Tozer from The Pursuit of God - Faith is not in itself a meritorious act; the merit is in the One to Whom it is directed. Faith is a redirecting of our sight, a getting out of the focus of our own vision and getting God into focus. Sin has twisted our vision inward and made it self-regarding. Unbelief has put self where God should be, and is perilously close to the sin of Lucifer who said I will set my throne above the throne of God. Faith looks out instead of in, and the whole life falls into line.

John Ortberg- Suffering causes people to ask questions like no other force in the world. It snaps the threads of our illusions of control and sufficiency.

.
Perry Noble- It didn't get easier for the apostles. They went from follow me to take up your cross and follow me. That is a deeper call for commitment!

John Piper- I tell you what a tragedy is. I will show you how to waste your life. Consider this story form the 1998 READERS DIGEST: A couple "took early retirement from their jobs in the Northeast five years ago when he was 59 and she was 51. Now they live in Punta Gorda, Florida, where they cruise on their 30 foot trawler, play softball and collect shells....Picture them before Christ at the great day of judgment. " Look, Lord. See my shells." That is a tragedy. ( yet it is the American Dream)

From Tony Morgan's blog this morning. He was asked the following question and I wholeheartedly agree with his answer:
Question: Do you now recognize country music as the superior form of entertainment or have you not lived here long enough yet? Are you at least referring to it as "country" and not "country/western"?
Tony's Response: First of all, I think it's funny that you referred to "country" and "music" in the same phrase. That aside, I absolutely despise country music...unless it helps people meet Jesus. And, the fact that someone could meet Jesus after listening to country music proves that God exists and is all-powerful.
